The Accountancy Board of Ohio has updated its CPE rules to require permit holders to earn a minimum of 20 CPE credits per year. This CPE requirement is effective immediately for all licensees, ABO Executive Director John E. Patterson said.
“The board is also looking to work more cooperatively with OSCPA, AICPA and the Department of Labor with regard to peer review and the process of enforcement between these organizations and agencies,” Patterson said.
Other issues on the ABO’s agenda in 2017:
- For potential CPA exam candidates, the board is working closely with NASBA and CPA Examination Services to establish guidelines which provide the best chance for a candidate to successfully complete the new CPA exam.
- The board will continue to support students through their Education Assistance Program, which provides monies for fifth-year students at Ohio colleges and universities, and will travel to one of those institutions to promote the profession and hold a Board meeting onsite.
