Because of the pandemic, the Ohio Legislature last year extended the deadline for CPA licenses set to expire on Dec. 31, 2020, to July 1, 2021.
That that date is now swiftly approaching.
The deadline also applies to peer review firms, and PAs (including non-practicing registration and out-of-state credentials), and CPE sponsors.
Late fees will not be waived for failure to renew by July 1, 2021.
The extension does not affect the next renewal date of Dec. 31, 2023, and CPE reporting for 2021-2023 will begin as of the date you renew your license.
As part of your renewal, you will be asked to list CPE earned per calendar year for 2018, 2019, and 2020. List any CPE earned in 2021 as part of your 2020 credits earned. You do not need to submit CPE completion certificates during your renewal, but please retain them in case you are selected for audit.
