GOP tax bill rewards real estate, oil while hurting hospitals
President Trump locked down his most significant legislative victory of the year with just days remaining in 2017, as GOP lawmakers signed off on a tax overhaul set to kick in on Jan. 1. But the legislation appears to favor some industries over others.

Tax on medical devices to resume after 2-year suspension
A 2.3% excise tax on medical device manufacturers is set for reinstatement after a two-year hiatus. It was originally imposed in 2013 as one of several taxes and fees in the Affordable Care Act that pay for expanded health insurance under the law.
