We commemorated Valentine’s Day in February by sharing a story each week profiling Ohio accounting couples. The Stotts, Ioas, Blanchards and Newkirks were so much fun to write about and, it seems, also fun to read about, as their stories were among the most read for the month.

Also in February we continued our coverage of municipal net profits tax reform and reported on a court victory for centralized filing, allowing business owners to file municipal income taxes in one place, at one time, all together.

On Feb. 21, Franklin County Common Pleas Judge David Cain ruled that the Ohio Constitution grants the general assembly power to pass laws that limit the power of municipalities to levy taxes. That was our most-read story in February; here is the top 10:

  1. Muni tax ruling a victory for Ohio business owners
  2. IRS requires taxpayers to validate ID
  3. Watch: OSCPA faces off with centralized filing opponents
  4. Dates announced for Advance Live; earn free CPE now
  5. Exam prep yields two CPAs – and one marriage
  6. IRS MEF option added as centralized filing ramps up
  7. The networking event that led to nuptials
  8. Registration for centralized filing continues as state offers free CPE
  9. Accounting proves to be an unexpected connection for couple
  10. Society again backs bright-line domicile test
