Running a small business isn't easy, but for Jacob Schroeder, CPA, partner at Wilkins Schroeder Accounting Group, LLC, opening a business in his Bellefontaine hometown had always been a dream.

After gaining some firm experience, he decided to make that dream a reality and become more than just a guy who opened his own practice.

“I thought there has to be a better way to work with small business owners and make a difference in their lives,” he said.

He began to think about what that would mean, and instead of doing reviews or audits he tried to be hands-on with the business and figure out what needed to be done to turn a business around. He said it’s been rewarding to help businesses and see them thrive in his hometown.
